Top 1 Motel

The room had some kind of fruit flies or other bugs, and I felt like I was being bitten all night. At $150 for one night, that’s a joke. If I’d known, I would’ve slept in my car. Having to arrive by 6pm was ridiculous too.

The outside didn’t look appealing, but the room was extremely clean and didn’t smell. The bed was very comfortable, the lighting was good, and both the toilet and shower were spotless. The shower rose and water pressure were excellent, and I couldn’t hear any noise from outside. The old saying about not judging a book by its cover really fits. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it.

Their check-in closes at 6pm and there’s no late check-in. My flight was delayed, I was still on the plane when they called, and by the time I arrived the motel was shut. Too bad if you’re stuck away from home in that kind of situation. In 40 years of travelling in outback Australia, every motel I’ve used has had a way to check in late. This foreign-owned motel doesn’t understand basic hospitality for travellers. It’s a disgrace.

The room stank of weed and the bed had bed bugs. I told management, but they couldn’t have cared less. I’d never bother staying there again.
