We thought we’d found a great deal for our group of young adults and older teens: an affordable motel with decent-sized clean rooms and a pool. That impression didn’t last. The floor was sticky, and our feet were black within 20 minutes. Before we headed to the movies, the owner came down and demanded a safety deposit, saying we were “a bit loud and noise.” When we asked whether this was required from all guests, she didn’t answer and only said it was for everyone’s safety. Then we found cockroaches, one coming from under the fridge and a larger one in the toilet. I’m phobic about them, and neither I nor my friends could sleep. We had a long drive the next day, so that felt dangerous. A friend took muddy shoes off outside and they were stolen. When we gathered the dirty sheets together, we found holes and duct tape on the bed, which explained how uncomfortable it was. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I’d rather pitch a tent at a caravan park than stay here again. If you care about health and hygiene, don’t stay here.

The woman at check-in was very nice, but they wanted to photograph my licence. Jim was rude and gave terrible customer service. He asked for my card number for a holding fee, which didn’t sound right, then told me to pay or leave. It was 2030 at night. The room had a no smoking sign, but smelled of cigarettes as soon as I opened the door. The shower pressure was poor, the room was very basic for $125, and the road noise was extremely loud.

There was no privacy. The manager or owner was caught entering our room three times. The pool was full of bugs and mould, and the shower had mould throughout. The toilet still had the previous guest’s shit in the bowl. Towels smelled filthy, and one had brown marks. I was glad I’d brought my own bedding and towels. The beds felt like bricks. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

The room was filthy, with grime all over the bathroom and sink, and the air conditioner kept making strange noises all night. The female owner was extremely rude and unfriendly, with an attitude that felt petty and unprofessional. I’d strongly advise people to avoid this place.

The fridge light bulbs had been ratted out, so I can’t recommend it for that. Language barrier skills weren’t great either. The location gets an A+, though, with food courts close by. Northside is too far to go for shopping. Thanks, Mrs Nyguene. The free Wi-Fi works well.
