Aaron at reception was a huge help. I’d booked for February by mistake instead of January, and even after his shift he helped us check in and got in touch with the booking platform about a refund. Without him, we’d have had nowhere to stay. He also printed out some great hiking routes he’d recommended. We got to watch wombats up close every evening, which was such a surprise. The room was warm, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathroom was really clean. I’d stay here for at least two nights.

The walks around the campgrounds were a nice extra, and there was wildlife everywhere. The view was magical too. The cabins are modern and have everything you need for a longer stay. I’ll definitely come back and stay longer!

I loved seeing wombats, kangaroos, quolls, and possums after a day out exploring. It’s a great spot for enjoying Tasmania’s nature and quiet. It is a long way from civilization if you like eating and drinking at cafes and pubs. For a proper wilderness trekking getaway, though, I’d definitely recommend the location and facilities.

There are a couple of short marked walking tracks, and I’d put this place on your to-do list. It’d be great to bring your kids here. I hadn’t visited this part of Tassie before and was really glad we stayed. The cabin was the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in, and every glass sliding door was spotless, with a view of the trees. A Spotted Quoll came right onto the verandah and wasn’t shy at all, so we got a wonderful close-up look. There were plenty of birds around too.

We got the peace and serenity we needed, along with some good walking. The place was immaculate, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Tim and Pam.
