Silver Springs 6br Luxury Homestead with Wifi, Pool. Fireplace, Views, Olives and Space

The house is lovely, with a beautiful view across the lake. Early in the morning you can watch hot air balloons floating up and setting off. There’s a great pool, and the kids have plenty to do, including books and games. The kitchen has everything you need, and we’d definitely come back.

I really enjoyed staying at Silver Springs. The house is huge and clean, with lots of comfy couches and places to sit. The views of the distant mountains and the little lake on the property are stunning. There’s a BBQ just outside the pool area, which was a lovely place to relax with the kids, and the kitchen has all the cooking gear you could need.

The views were sensational, and the beds and linen were good quality. But there were cleanliness problems all through the interior: ants, cobwebs and dead insects everywhere, nail clippings on the carpet, and dead flies in all the light fittings. We took photos. The outdoor tables were filthy, and the furniture out front and back was covered in dust and bird droppings. Some of the indoor furniture was past its best, too. For what we paid, it didn’t feel like good value. Would I go back? Yes, if the cleaning were up to standard. I’d have given it five stars then.

The service was rude and incredibly poor from the first day until the 14th after we left. We followed up more than 15 times about three issues. When we asked about having a few people over for a three-hour BBQ outside, the reply was so rude that we decided against it because we were worried. That was our welcome. At check-in, a 'Weekenda' car was parked in the distance, and the driver stared at us from the seat without waving or smiling. It felt like something from a thriller. Holy cow. Silver Springs was poorly maintained. On the first night, the dining table fell and hit one of our children. We had a video of the dangerous table. After a long argument, they agreed not to charge us, but nobody apologized, asked if the small child was okay, or offered to inspect the table. We were left without a dining table, and they actually wanted us to pay for it. Two weeks after we left, after we’d repeatedly chased them for our deposit and got no replies from a business that says it’s available seven days a week, they suddenly claimed we’d damaged a different table. Because they had taken a security deposit upfront, they simply kept our money. Around the same time, management complained about our road bikes being in the house. They were $20k bikes, thoroughly cleaned and carefully put away, but we were called disrespectful. The rule hadn’t been mentioned, and they showed no interest in how we’d cared for either the bikes or the property. We did what they asked, even when the requests were odd. We didn’t shower when they asked us not to, moved our cars, hurried back for an unexpected water delivery for a water tank, and cleaned thoroughly before leaving. There wasn’t even a thank you. We were treated like criminals. The outdoor furniture was filthy, the indoor couches were stained, and the stools looked ready to break, so we were afraid to use them in case we got blamed. The TV didn’t work, with wires everywhere, and the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly, which was a real inconvenience. There was plenty more. If you want a safe, basically maintained house for a family, this isn’t for you. This manager is in a category of their own: absolutely disgraceful. I’ve stayed in lots of places over the years and written many complimentary reviews. This experience was a whole new low. I wish more people would speak up when businesses like this put customers last, or worse. #avoidweekendaatALLCOSTS!
