Rutherglen Motor Inn

After a day of touring, it was nice to wind down with the hallway jigsaw puzzle. We stayed four nights through a Travel Auction and had a great time. The hosts were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived, and our quiet, clean room suited us well. We thoroughly recommend this motel. Cheers, Allan and Dianne South Australia

The kindness here really stood out, from the lovely customer service to the DVDs in the corridor and puzzles you can help finish. The rooms have all the mod cons and good shower pressure. An affordable place to stay with great service. 3.5 stars.

We booked directly, so I got to chat with the owner beforehand and felt sure we’d get good service. He came through. We loved the retro feel and space in the rooms, the huge bed, and the massive bathroom with actual bench space by the sink. It felt like the owners had thought through the little things based on what they themselves want when staying somewhere. The garden and BBQ area, pool and cosy fireplace made the place feel like a friend’s home. I’ve worked in hotels, so I’m pretty critical, but this was a lovely surprise and a really restful stay. My 12 year old son, after days on the road and plenty of motels, wished we could stay longer instead of having to meet our deadline in Melbourne. It’s an easy walk into town, where there are interesting little shops and so many good dining options it’s hard to choose. We wish we’d booked more nights. Thanks, Rutherglen Motor Inn. We’ll definitely stay again when we pass through, and highly recommend it.

We felt very welcome during our holidays, and the customer service was excellent. The rooms were clean and tidy, there’s a nice pool for hot days, and breakfast is simple.
