The Saturday DJ shook my windows until 23:45, and there was a rat station at the end of the hall plus a strange hole where the carpet met the wall. Looking out was just a brick wall. Down below, I spotted dirty underwear and a pile of feces, no idea whether it was from a person or an animal, and I wasn't about to check. The room had two beds, a table, and one power outlet, with no TV, kettle, fridge, or sink. Best of all was the cracked asbestos paneling right behind my pillow. I spent my whole stay on the pub's second floor in tears laughing. You need the right sense of humor for this place, though. If you can't see the funny side, it probably isn't for you, but it was certainly something to see.

The staff were friendly, and the place is right on the Main Street. Happy hour drinks were cheap, too. The reviews had prepared our group for what to expect, and they were spot on. The restaurant, rooms, and ablutions were absolutely appalling. Bring earplugs if you want to get through the Saturday night DJ.

The photos I took show how disgusting this hotel really is, nothing like the pictures you see beforehand. The mattress alone was revolting. I didn't manage to photograph the dust-covered fans or the gross shared bathroom, either. DON'T STAY HERE.

The place is rancid. That should tell you what to make of my earlier claims about the best chef in the world cooking whatever you want, even burgers, no food poisoning, tidy rooms, spotless communal bathrooms, no spiders or cockroaches, and windows that don't need old shoes to prop them open. All of that was a lie.
