We had a lovely couple of nights here to unwind on the way home. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we wanted, plus a few extras. We could watch the world go by and catch the sunset through the trees from the balcony, or cross the road to the park and water’s edge. There’s also a bar and eatery right next door, with great fish and chips and cold beer. Check-in was simple, the map to the cabins was easy to follow, and we had off-street parking. The facilities were excellent, and we had nothing but compliments for the staff at the caravan park where we checked in, as well as the neighbouring eatery. 1770 and Agnes Waters are a beautiful part of the country, with plenty of beaches and walks to explore.

We’ve been here for six days, and the cabin has been brilliant. It was so clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The covered balcony looks over a lovely picnic area and the beach. We’re leaving feeling much more relaxed.

The cabin was fabulous, fully equipped and beautifully placed on the point with lovely views. I also loved the Town of 1770. There was more to do than I expected, including some great walks and quiet, secluded beach areas. Check-in, though, was a very poor experience after a seven-hour drive. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, just a few minutes before closing, and none of the emails had said the office closed early on weekends. No one picked up the phone or the after-hours mobile. Looking further, I saw three people in the office, with the door locked, lights off, and beer on. Eventually, knocking got a response. Very ordinary.

We were charged the wrong amount, and it took a lot of chasing to try to sort out the $304 overpayment. The stay was supposed to cost $540, and we’d already paid a $291 deposit. I went back to the park and showed the withdrawal from my bank. I was told to enjoy our stay, that they’d check their emails and get back to me in the morning. No one contacted me, so I phoned. It was hard to get an answer, but I eventually left my name and concern. Still no contact, so I rang again. I was told they hadn’t got to it because life gets in the way, and the person had to pick up their kids and would discuss it and get back to me. I was very unhappy. Check-in was poor too. There was no one at the cabin to book us in, even after I called many times. There were people on our patio. I found the check-in address, but nobody was there, just a scrub area. We drove around and eventually found the caravan park to check in. I explained who we were and that people were on the patio. Corey came to check the unit and apparently those people had arrived a month early. Later, someone phoned my husband to say it looked like we’d also booked two nights in the caravan park. Absolutely not. They offered to put a deposit into our account, so I went and got the cash. Very disappointed indeed.
