We stayed cosy inside and watched through the glass doors as the waters of Bass straight seemed to pass through four seasons in about two hours. Amazing. The old cottage is beautiful, a genuine piece of history, and incredibly comfortable.

Clean, very nice rooms, with guest laundry included. It’s 6 km from town and the Nut. Quiet and isolated.

The one drawback for us was the gravel road to the property. It wasn’t ideal on a motorbike. We stayed in the Technician's Cottage, which is set up for two couples, and were very impressed with the accommodation. It had modern facilities from its renovation while keeping its historical charm.

The huge freestanding bath was something else, and the room was spacious with an exceedingly comfortable bed. The breakfast spread was amazing too. Cable Station is in a stunning remote location, with incredibly friendly and helpful service. It far surpassed our expectations, and I look forward to staying there again.

Charlotte was fantastic, and meeting her two border collies was a nice surprise. Heaps of little features made this a really welcoming place for a getaway. Would recommend, and I’ll stay again next time I’m in Stanley!
