The shower was probably one of the worst I’ve had anywhere, even in Indonesia. It only dribbles out, so washing up becomes a long, cold, frustrating job. The shampoo dispenser has more pressure than the shower. Aside from that, it’s a quiet, cosy place in a great spot, with a comfortable bed that stays warm when it’s cold. Basic amenities, but very clean and well kept. Not bad at all.

We watched the sun rise from our balcony and saw whales playing offshore. Our room was lovely and comfortable, with great facilities, and the place was peaceful and quiet. The host was fantastic. It was easy to get into town, to the Penguin board walk and to the beach. Thanks for the memories. Highly recommend Hanlon Guest House.

The storm was huge, but we felt safe in the house. Even when the power went out, we stayed warm and dry. The house was magnificent, and our room was classy and very clean. We enjoyed the spa, and the whole experience felt warm and friendly despite the bad weather. We’ll stay again.

The owners and staff were excellent and went out of their way to find us some eating utensils. We were also able to upgrade to the self contained cabin. It’s a lovely renovated property in a great location and good value. Some online references mention breakfast, but only a very limited number of rooms have cooking facilities, maybe just one outside the main house, though that one is still very nice. I’d certainly recommend it.

A king size bed and everything we needed made for a very comfortable stay in a well appointed room. We made good use of the lounge, with its stocked bar and nibbles. It was easy to walk to Stanley's quaint gallery, museum, shops, restaurants and breakfast cafes, as well as The Nut, the beach and the penguins.
