We stayed two nights on a powered site and would happily come back. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, and we loved seeing Little Penguins in their natural environment. It’s an easy walk to town, with both beaches nearby and the supermarket right next door. The town is beautiful, with heritage buildings and a strong focus on protecting the natural environment. Highly recommend.

Out of the four caravan parks we stayed at during our three week Tassie lap, this one really stood out. We usually free camp. Reception welcomed us warmly, and we got helpful information about the penguins. Even the bathrooms had foot towels. Great service. Check out the wine bar while you’re visiting too!

Little penguins waddling around at your feet at dusk, and foot towels in the bathrooms. What a park! The powered sites are well maintained, and the camp kitchen, laundry and bathrooms were all clean and very good. Staff were friendly and informative, there’s a supermarket next door, and everything in Stanley is close. Highly recommend!

We loved the nightly Fairy Penguins on the beach just behind the campsite. My partner and I had a great stay at BIG4 Stanley, with well maintained sites and exceptionally clean amenities. The location was really handy too, just a short walk to the beach, The Nut and, most importantly, the pub.

December 2025, travelling in a caravan. The place is lovely, as the pictures show, but what really stood out was the help when something went wrong. While packing up to leave, I spotted that the right suspension pivot pin was 90% out. I asked reception where I could find help, and RICK, the groundskeeper, came over with his tools. He spent the next hour politely and respectfully putting it back together, checked both sides, and found the nut on the left pivot pin was loose too. He directed me to an auto shop, then helped again when I returned with a mechanic who had been buying something at the shop. The two of them showed me how to fix it next time, and both refused payment for what they called a simple fix. If you’re travelling around Tasmania, visit Stanley. If you stay there, choose the Big 4 caravan park. Service, attitude, location and setup are all great. If anything goes wrong, they can be lifesaving!
