Even though we arrived late, the man got up to hand over our keys and was patient and friendly. The room was clean and well equipped, with a comfy bed and a heated blanket that was a real help on a cold night. Great value, and the staff were lovely. I can’t recommend it enough.

Room 10 has a slow-draining shower and no floor drain, so water can spill onto the carpet if you don’t catch it. We mopped it up with towels and texted the manager to apologise and explain. He said he’d run the shower without seeing a problem, then tried to charge us $250 for lost income while the carpet dried. On our return trip, we ran the shower in front of him and it soon started to fill up. This seems to be a known issue, so take care if you stay in that room. We won’t be coming back, sadly, even though CMI had previously been our convenient, clean and comfortable stop on drives to Melbourne to see family. I’d given it a rave review before for the service and value.

The price advertised wasn’t the price they tried to charge. The room didn’t seem to have been serviced, and the bed looked like it had been made by angry short people. There were no hand towels, bowls or plates, just three sticks of coffee. Coorabin, pick up your game!

The new managers were friendly, and the room was very clean. Bed was comfy too.

The heating worked well and the beds were comfortable. I also appreciated having a microwave in the room alongside the kettle and toaster, since I don’t always find one in motels.
