Hen is a lovely lady, and she’ll make sure you don’t leave tired, thirsty, or hungry. Stop in and say hi. The location is nice, the staff are friendly, and there’s great coffee and homemade pastries.

We stopped here on the way back from the Flinders and rented two cabins. They were beautiful and so thoughtfully appointed, right down to the next level soaps, bodywash, and shampoos. The couple running the place were lovely. My only disappointment was having just one night. We’ll be back on next year’s trip!

The bed was clean and comfortable, and the room was large and spacious. Our unit had everything you’d need for an overnight stay and more. The kitchen was clean and extensively equipped, and the bathroom was neat and clean with the soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and other things you’d expect. There was Wi-Fi, but it didn’t work well enough to be useful. Mobile data was fine. The cottages sit in a spacious garden with trees and bush. Our unit had a large ramp. They’re made of galvanised corrugated iron on the outside and in the bathroom, but the whole place was visually pleasing. Reception was delightful, helpful, and welcoming. The lady’s last words were, “Everything you might need is in the unit,” and she was right. Stone Hut is a little town, population 32 I believe, so for some reason I’d expected the cottages to be made of stone. They weren’t, but it didn’t matter. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer, and that we didn’t know about it on our way TO Perth. If we travel to Perth again, we’ll certainly use Stone Hut Cottages.

A great last minute find, cute and quiet. Would recommend.

The cottages were lovely, and kept us cool and comfortable even during the 34° days. The staff were very accommodating too. We absolutely loved staying here, and I’d really recommend it if you need somewhere in the Southern Flinders Ranges area.
