Karen brought our dog some ice water, and their friendly dogs kept her company. That warmth set the tone from the moment we arrived at Stony Creek with our dog on a midsummer day. Thanks, Gavin and Karen, for making us feel so welcome. Gavin showed us around his range of offerings, and the tour was a real learning experience. He knows his craft inside out, and I love hearing from someone so passionate about what they do. You can tell he cares deeply about each offering and is committed to getting things to a high standard. I’d personally recommend the dark gin aged in a barrel for one year. We had a lovely time.

Wendy and Marty were so friendly and welcoming. At check-in they gave us a carton of fresh organic, free-range eggs from their farm, and they also arranged a big tub of organic bush honey. We stayed in the self-contained cottage, which was cosy and had magnificent views. The place itself is beautiful and vibrant. Contact Wendy and Marty directly for their best rates.

The Gin School was an amazing experience, and the cocktails were awesome too when they were open. Bookings are essential, though. The setting is stunning, with a gorgeous view and a definitely rural feel. And Hamish the highland cow is adorable.

The staff were lovely and friendly, and the gin tasting taught us a lot about how the gin is made and the different types they distill. The gin was delicious, and the outlook is breathtaking. Bring a few picnic snacks to have with your gin. They’re dog friendly too!

Jim the border collie was there to greet us, then we enjoyed a tasting, a G&T and cocktails out on the deck. It’s a lovely little boutique gin distillery with a beautiful view. Thanks for the gin and for teaching us about distilling!
