Aldermere Estate Luxury Apartments

There’s plenty of room here, and the place was clean and well cared for. The town centre and a small supermarket are both within walking distance, which made the location really convenient. We’ll make this our first choice when we come back to Strahan.

We wouldn’t come back, and if we hadn’t prepaid, we’d have left after the first night. The place didn’t feel anything like “Luxury” or “Boutique”; it was a tired old home with antique furniture. When we arrived at 2:30pm, the room was only about three-quarters ready. The bed was unfinished, a metal bar was lying across the bedroom floor, and there were other odd things left around. We later realised the bar was the towel rail, which hadn’t been attached to the bathroom wall. When we called about the missing pillow and the rail, the woman sounded annoyed to be interrupted at a party. She said she’d return in half an hour to sort it out, but took four hours. She came while we were out for dinner, tossed the pillow onto the bed, and left the other unfinished things as they were. Worse, when we got back, the front door had been left unlocked with all our belongings inside. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

We spent two nights in a two-bedroom apartment, and it suited our needs well. The supplied cereal and lovely bread were a nice extra.

Tim & Sharee are the reason we keep coming back, every year and whenever we can in between. As hosts, they also know so much about local connections, which really helps us understand the community we’re working in.
