La Mer Sunshine

The friendly staff and good value keep us coming back every year. We love the ocean views from the apartments and the delightful cafes nearby. It's also only a five-minute drive into Noosa. Gary and Lili 20251203

It's nice and quiet here, with just the sound of the sea. There's a path to the beach across the road from the front entrance. From the rear exit, cross the road and you're at restaurants in about three minutes. There are SriLankan and Italian options, a local fish and chip shop, bottle shop, convenience store, and coffee shop, as well as other restaurants we didn't get to. The Surf Life Saving Club is a five-minute walk away. Fantastic place, with great amenities.

The penthouse had plenty of space and was comfortable, and the balconies gave us a great view. But the lift was out of order when we arrived, so we hauled our bags up three flights. It was out more often than it worked during our four-day stay, with elevator mechanics seeming to be there daily. We carried our luggage down again at checkout, though the woman at reception did offer to find someone to help. If stairs are a problem for you, this place may not suit you. I also spoke with a young couple who had a small child and were leaving after just one night because of mould in their room. The building feels old and tired and could use some care.

The beach is right there, with a local surf club across the road and cafes and restaurants nearby. We had a lovely ocean view, though it wasn’t full because low-rise rooms stood in front. The apartment was much bigger than I expected. Our couch was a little wet on arrival after a deep clean, we were told, but it had dried by the next day. The woman at the counter was lovely at checkout. Some household items, like the kettle, look worn and could do with replacing.
