We stayed just one night to break up the drive home. Room 107 was good: the linen was clean, the cups and glasses were enough, and I didn’t spot any stains or mould. The king bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small, and the waterfall shower flooded the floor. The holders for the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel had been ripped off the wall, so the bottles were left on the shower shelf, with little space for our own toiletries. Hand gel and lotion were provided by the basin. They supply a bottle for filtered water, but the level one station was out of order, so we had to use another floor, and the jug was awkward to fill. There’s happy hour from 4 to 6 and a restaurant with limited offers. We had cheesecake at the hotel restaurant, which was delicious, after eating at a Thai place a few minutes away that I highly recommend. Breakfast is $32 per person, and the only parking was in an unsecured open area. The area was quiet, the location convenient, and the staff were pleasant and very helpful.

We were there for four nights and would happily return. It was a convenient spot for a family member having a procedure at SC Private Hospital, and the room rates were reasonable. Reception were helpful when we arrived, and the restaurant prices were pretty fair too.

The room was tidy and clean, and the bed was really comfortable even though it was two beds pushed together. The blackout curtains worked so well that we lost track of how late the morning had got. It’s a nice place to stay away from the busy city centre, close to the Sunshine Coast uni hospital and the adjoining bus station, which gets you to most main areas in the region. There’s also a shopping centre about a 15-minute walk away with Coles, Aldi, other stores and a good range of places to eat.

Check-in was easy even though we arrived early before heading out for the day; coming back that evening was a smooth transition. The room was spacious, tidy and clean, and the location was great. We had a fantastic stay.

The bar staff deserve five stars. They even turned on the barista machine to make us an early coffee, though they didn’t have to. The motel itself is a two-star stay for us because of the condition and other problems. There was a large structural crack in the wall, a grubby sofa, and cockroaches in the corridor. You can’t open the windows, so air con is the only way to get air. There was no toaster or microwave, and the restaurant meals were overpriced, $33 for a burger and chips, plus $6 for room delivery.
