ibis Sydney Airport

We were close to the airport, which was handy, and after arriving around 8 PM at the end of a long travel day, we got a room straight away. We checked out early, around 8 the next morning, too tired to report the cockroach we spotted in the small room. There were no welcome amenities, toothbrushes or slippers. Breakfast was free with our Platinum status, but we had to clarify that with staff because their records seemed inconsistent at first. Nothing else about the stay stood out.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the location was incredibly convenient. That helped ease the frustration, but the rooms were disappointing for the price and the hotel organization. There was no water bottle, the carpets were filthy and the AC barely cooled the room. The room quality needs serious improvement.

The room was comfortable, the price reasonable, and the staff friendly. I recommend staying, but I'd skip breakfast: the buffet could be better for what they charge. Ibis could use an update too. The blind in my room needs fixing, as does the seating in the dining area.

I wouldn't stay here again, since there are much nicer options near Mascot Station. My stay was okay and the front desk folks were very nice, but the so-called restaurant and bar service left a lot to be desired. It isn't really a bar: there are no seats at a bar, and it's also where you place dinner orders. One person was handling the area and sorting out drinks too, which is ridiculous. Breakfast was bland every day.
