North Sydney Hotel

The atmosphere at North sydney hotel was lovely, with comfortable tables and chairs and plenty of different beers on tap. I paid $34 for the lamb chops at Percys bar, and they were perfect, easily as good as anywhere else. They were trimmed well and cooked just right, with rich sauce over delicious mash. A nice variety of fresh vegetables came with them, all crunchy and perfectly done. Mint jelly around the plate and picked herbs finished it off. Very impressed.

The vintage-style rooms were lovely, very clean and comfortable for either a short or longer stay. I personally loved everything about my visit. The staff were friendly, really helpful and always ready to answer questions. The location is great too, close to the metro and other places to visit in the northern part of the city. Highly recommend!

I’ve been to this place a few times over the years, most recently for lunch, and though I’m not local, it’s worth the trip. The food keeps bringing me back. I’m no foodie and can’t explain it too well, but it’s a step above the quality I expect from a good pub meal. You can tell they care about what reaches the table, and my friend felt the same. Prices are good, the place is clean, the atmosphere is great, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They were busy with the day to day work, yet made us feel welcome and gave us quick, friendly service. I’m looking forward to coming back soon.

Percy’s keeps impressing us, and the food is exceptional every time. The steak is cooked just right any day of the week, and the steamed vegetables are crisp, varied and dressed with lemon juice. We also love the cannon of lamb and the special slow-cooked beef cheeks, with basil reduction oil and a silky, tasty sauce. The pan-fried barramundi with chips or steamed vegetables and tartar sauce is another favourite. And their vegetarian burrito bowl is the best in Sydney, healthy and really tasty. The care in each dish is unusual for a bar restaurant. It feels like fine dining quality at very affordable prices.
