Novotel Sydney Cabramatta

A last-minute switch to Novotel Sydney Cabramatta turned out to be lucky after my other accommodation option didn’t work out. The property is modern, well presented and professionally maintained, and it’s in a convenient spot for local amenities. My room was spacious, thoughtfully laid out and well equipped. The bathroom was clean, contemporary and practical, and the bed was notably comfortable. Staff were friendly, efficient and professional throughout, and room service arrived impressively quickly without any drop in quality. A very positive stay, and I’d gladly come back.

The beef tartare was the highlight of a great meal at Magnam – Novotel Sydney Cabramatta, and the cocktails were very good too. Service was warm and attentive from start to finish. Merv, the manager, was especially accommodating and made us feel well looked after. We even got an unexpected tour of the kitchen and freezer room, a nice touch that showed how proud they are of their work. Fantastic hospitality and food, I’d happily return and recommend it.

I was here overnight for work. Parking was easy to find, and valet parking is available. As a diamond member, I was told I’d been upgraded. I appreciate places that let you know about an upgrade, or explain why one isn’t possible. They’d also left olives, beef jerky and a small bottle of white wine in the room. I don’t like olives or jerky, but thanked them anyway. For a mid scale brand, the wine was a good offering. The room was clean, as was most of the crockery. The bathroom drain smelled a bit, but shutting the door kept it contained. The bed was comfortable, though the temperature sometimes fluctuated. The gym is a decent size, with free weights and exercise machines. I didn’t have breakfast, as it’s not usually a meal I eat, so I can’t comment on it. The only real negative was getting out of the free car park. The license plate recognition didn’t respond, and I had to drive around to find an exit without a boom gate. I saw it happen to two other cars as I was driving around. I’d definitely stay again.

The hotel has a lot of potential, and I’d be happy to return. It’s clean, modern, and conveniently located, with everything feeling fresh since it had only been open for under 8 weeks. Anastasia, the Duty Manager, was especially polite, respectful, and friendly. Some staff could use more customer service and communication training. With reception on Level 1, concierge staff are often guests’ first contact, so more experience welcoming people and communicating confidently in English would help them guide guests from the entrance. Continued staff development could make the guest experience more consistent.
