Quality Apartments Camperdown

The apartment was a decent size and the location was very good, but it was dated and not clean. We had to let the shower run for 15 minutes before any hot water came through. There were brown stains on the bedcovers, and under the sheets we found a used Band-Aid and a vape. It didn’t seem like the rooms were serviced regularly, if at all. There’s potential here, but it needs renovating and a new cleaning team.

We checked in, found the room wasn’t ready, and were “upgraded” to a two-bedroom suite. It looked like student accommodation, with stained flooring and a stained lounge, missing light fittings, and a mouldy, water-damaged ceiling. It smelled of cigarettes and looked out onto a dirty pool. We checked out again. When I asked for a refund, the receptionist didn’t even ask why. She knew. If you’re looking for somewhere nice, don’t stay here. I would not recommend it.

This was our first stop in Sydney, and the desk clerks were outstanding. The apartment was roomy and reasonably priced. Check-in was at the Quality Suites Hotel, two blocks away. That was a little confusing at first, but once we found it, it wasn’t a problem. Several bus lines are a short walk away and give quick access to major city sights and attractions.

On a later visit, reception was staffed by a lovely young woman named Joanne, who was extremely helpful and gave excellent customer service. The manager could learn from her. My earlier stay was very disappointing. I had booked a 2 bedroom executive suite, but on arrival a rude, terse woman I assume was the manager said it wasn’t available, with no other explanation, apology, or offer to reduce the rate. I had to ask, and she tried to charge me the full executive rate. The room I got was decent enough, but the air conditioner and fridge leaked overnight. When I reported it the next day, the same woman accused me of fiddling with the AC thermostat and ignored the leaking fridge. It was appalling to be treated that way when reporting room problems.
