The prawn pasta lunch special was delicious, and we also got chips with gravy. That extra gravy cost $3 for barely more than a thimbleful. I asked whether they had chilli flakes to serve on the side with the pasta. The waitress said yes, but there'd be an extra charge. I didn't dare ask for parmesan, lol. After spending $38, I thought some of those extras might be included. Still, the place was clean, the food was nice, and the outlook over the terrace was pleasant.

We fed five people for under $100, and everyone left full and happy. The food was fresh and delicious, so I'll definitely come back. I'd recommend the halloumi bruschetta, grilled barramundi and bolognese.

The room was spacious, the bed clean and comfy, and the water hot. We didn't eat here because we have family nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful when we needed them. We stayed because everything was within walking distance. We're not ones to nitpick about things like tight taps that dripped. The old hotel's history is interesting, and with a place that has character you can't expect resort-style comforts.

The bistro has a roomy dining area with a pool table, plus a small pokies room, and it’s close to the train station. I stopped in for lunch while visiting Springwood. The meals were good, prices reasonable, and the staff and locals were really friendly.

The restaurant has great views, and it’s a comfortable, relaxed place to sit. Handy for the train and bus too, so I often pop in for a quick one or two while I’m waiting for transport.
