Windsor Heritage Motel

I’d read the reviews and felt unsure, but the room was comfortable and I slept well. The young guy at the front desk gave me a really warm welcome and made me feel at home. It’s a budget-friendly place, so it may not have all the facilities of a big hotel. I think we should encourage them rather than discourage them.

The room felt dirty and neglected, with filthy-looking sheets. Mold seemed to have been covered with cheap paint instead of properly dealt with, and the toilet felt as if it might come loose whenever we touched it. The shower didn’t work, so we were told to use another room to wash. I was uncomfortable staying there at all. When I tried to explain these problems calmly, the manager banged on the table, raised their voice, and acted as though I was at fault for bringing them up. The service was shockingly unprofessional, with no accountability. We had expected a hotel and got chaos and disrespect instead. I’m furious that I spent my time, money, and patience here. In my opinion, the place is a disaster and should be investigated or shut until it can meet basic cleanliness, safety, and professionalism standards. Don’t stay here. Save your money, sanity, and dignity.

The beds were comfortable, the area was quiet, and there was plenty of parking right by our room. But after we arrived, the property couldn’t find our booking, even though we’d paid and had a confirmation email. Once that was sorted, we found dead bugs throughout the bathroom and the bathroom door wouldn’t close. There was a lot of mouse poo on a shelf, and we also found two slugs in the room. We couldn’t turn on the air conditioning either: there was no remote, and we couldn’t reach the buttons on the unit.

The room smelled foul as soon as we opened the door, with damp, rot, and other mystery odours. The beds felt like old pillowcases filled with rocks and broken concrete. Every time I turned over, I wondered whether I’d hit a spring or hurt my spine. The walls were so thin we heard cars, conversations, and what felt like everyone’s existential crises. A busy car park might have been quieter. Staff were also awful to deal with. They said we hadn’t paid even after we showed the receipts repeatedly, then kept trying to charge us for extra nights we hadn’t stayed. It felt like a scam, and nobody apologised. Terrible, dishonest service, a disgusting room, and beds that seemed built by someone who hates people. If you want to be overcharged and disrespected while sleeping on what felt like discarded building materials, this place is for you. Otherwise, keep driving.
