Motel 359

The cleaners were so friendly. The manager, though, was a horrible, nasty person who should be fired. The company will hear about my experience.

I called the day before to arrange an early check-in and was told it wouldn't be an issue, the room would be ready by 10am, ahead of my planned noon arrival. After a five-hour drive, we were told the hotel was “busy” and early check-in wasn't possible. We had to wait until 2pm instead. When we finally got to the room, the doona was covered in stains. Absolutely disgusting. The rooms are small, dated, and need renovating. I'll never return!

The room felt like living in a wardrobe. It smelled stale, like cigarettes, and there was no wardrobe or bedside table. A small stainless steel shelf in the bathroom was the only place for a toothbrush, so we put our toiletries on the floor. Our suitcases had nowhere to go except upright at the end of the beds, and the passage was only wide enough for one person to get through. Some guests had to fold up their wheelie walkers to enter the bathroom, then unfold them once inside. There was a clicking noise in the ceiling. I reported it to the manager, who grunted and said she'd check, but she didn't, and it kept going. She was reluctant to give us a key each, saying she had no spare for that room and couldn't get in if we lost it, and that replacing it would cost $60. I later found out she had a master key anyway. I don't recommend this motel, maybe it's suitable for an active single person. There are steps on the path to the dining room, where ramps would have been more suitable.

Rude owners and a filthy room. There were two cockroaches on the floor, and my bed had a dead bug and a dried noodle on the blanket. The chair was filthy too. There was a lamp, but it wasn't plugged in because there were no power sockets on the bedside of the room. Disgusting.
