Tamworth Central Motel

The price was good and the manager was helpful when we arrived late, but the night on our way to Sydney was disappointing. The room was a good size and the bed comfortable. There was no hot water for a shower, holes in the walls and door, traffic noise, and no table in the room.

We took all our gear with us during the day because we didn’t feel safe leaving it there. On arrival, a man was sitting outside our door smoking, despite the no smoking signs. They even provide ashtrays with complimentary cigarette butts. Upstairs residents were singing “shut up & dance with me” early Sunday morning, and we could hear their footsteps. The room also had mould in the shower, on the bathroom ceiling and around the window. The stove grill was filthy with grease from someone cooking fatty meat. The green sheets were old and stained, nothing like the clean white ones in the photos, and I was glad I’d brought my own pillow. Smoke alarms had been removed from the room. This place is very overpriced for what it offers. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere.

The room looks its age, though the bathroom has been renovated. Hot water was great and the pressure was really good. The window rattler aircon is a bit noisy but does its job. The young woman at reception was friendly and helpful. All in all, it’s a good spot for an overnight stay while travelling.

Breakfast is included and arrives at the time you ask for, which is really convenient. The bed was very comfortable, with the right amount of bedding and extra provided, and there’s AC in the room. Everything was clean, including the kitchen and other electrical appliances, and the room was nicely furnished. The staff were warm and polite, with excellent customer service. Great value for money. This was my second overnight stay, I’ve already booked the next one for interstate travel, and management look after you $$
