The cheeseburger and lamb special were amazing, and the staff made our early dinner such an easy, enjoyable stop. We were in Tamworth for one night on the way from Sydney to Brisbane with our two crazy kids, both under four. The staff were warm and welcoming, gave the kids colouring things, and had that lovely country feel. The lady who served us was especially kind. She also recommended bicentennial park, which we would have missed, and it's such a good park. Can't recommend the place enough.

A nice old-fashioned pub with well-equipped rooms and spacious, clean shared bathrooms. Service was quick and friendly, and the meals were excellent.

The room and bathrooms were nice. The heating cost it a star: the room went from an ice box to an overheated sauna after the manager set the heat to 25 degrees, with no way to control it from inside the room. If the temperature had been normal, I'd give it five stars.

The rooms have been nicely refreshed while keeping that classic pub accommodation feel, and I liked the shared en suite facilities. Two things bothered us: cleaners played music loudly in the pub area early in the morning, and a very loud compressor kept cycling on and off all night. It may have been in the neighbouring building, but each time it started, it woke us.

The steak we ordered was just perfect, and the food was great. It's a nice restaurant with lots of seating and great service. For me, the whole experience was a 10 out of 10.
