Quest Tamworth

The hotel itself was one of the best we’ve stayed in: spacious, very clean, and right in central Tamworth. The service, though, was the worst we’ve experienced. When my wife went to pay, the young woman added an almost $30 card fee. My wife was surprised but paid, then pointed out that she was using a debit card, not a credit card. The response was, “i just slap it on for everyone,” with no immediate apology or refund. The man at the counter, who I assume was the owner, said, “I dont speak to my wife” when she asked him about the refund. After my wife told me what happened, I went back. The young woman delayed, then said we could take minibar items instead to make up the $30. She also seemed visibly annoyed on another occasion when we brought our towels over for fresh ones. It’s a shame they didn’t offer a simple way to avoid the fee, as many Sydney businesses do by asking customers to insert rather than tap their card. Instead, she openly admitted to applying it to everyone, and a refund only came up after we kept pushing. We were surprised by the whole thing in a country town.

That bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in away from home, and those super-large towels were a bonus. We felt at home as soon as we walked in: the place was fresh and clean, with a lovely smell, soft music, and attention to detail everywhere. The apartment had a king-size bed, washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher, and it was clear they’d thought of everything without cutting corners. I even washed my hair here, which I don’t usually do when staying away. The staff gave us such a friendly welcome and were incredibly considerate. We’ll be back when we’re in Tamworth.

The kitchen had everything we needed, and the apartment was comfortable and clean. The staff were so welcoming and excellent with us. A great family stay at Quest Tamworth, we’ll be back.

The rooms were so clean, and the owners were genuinely hospitable. The staff were amazing too. I’d happily recommend The Quest in Tamworth, you won’t be disappointed.
