The staff were welcoming and gave us a great dinner suggestion. The room was spotless and in excellent shape, and looked like it had been recently renovated. The bathroom was small but well appointed. My wife, our three small dogs, and I had a very positive stopover. There’s plenty of nearby space for dog walks, though watch out for the ovals across the road, they’re covered in bindis and we had to spend some time picking them off our dogs.

We stopped here to break up a long drive and get some proper rest, but the stay fell well below an acceptable standard. The room was uncomfortable, the environment wasn’t restful, and the condition of the accommodation concerned us. When we raised these problems with management, they didn’t take responsibility or show willingness to sort them out. Instead, they deflected and responded in a petty, unprofessional way. This isn’t about getting a refund. It’s about the poor accommodation, lack of care, and how our concerns were handled. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Edit: After reading the “small family” business response, I feel they care more about gaslighting and insulting customers than making a reasonable effort to fix problems. They said we were using the AC properly instead of simply saying they’d look into it. When we raised cleanliness concerns, they expected us to deal with everything ourselves after a long trip with two dogs. Rather than address those points, they focused on our genuine refund request to discredit what we said.

The room was clean and modern, the location was great, and the aircon worked well. The beds were really comfortable, with plenty of proper pillows, and the towels were clean and soft. After finally getting out of Dubbo, it was a relief to stay somewhere so much nicer than the horrible hotel we’d been in before. We were originally meant to stay on New Year’s Day, but four hours from Tamworth our car got a punctured tyre and we ended up stuck in Dubbo for five days. We had to cancel at 11am, but the staff refunded our stay because of what had happened. They said they hoped someone would do the same for them. After a horrendous, expensive car problem, that kindness meant a lot. We stayed on our way home once we got out of Dubbo, and I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Tamworth. Thank you again!

We had to change our plans at the last minute because of the bushfires in December, and I was panicking about finding somewhere dog friendly for us and our two mini dachshunds. Esther was lovely on the phone and went out of her way to fit our group of four in. She was welcoming when we arrived and generous with her time. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We also liked the old-school menu for ordering breakfast to the room, but had to leave early and didn’t get to try it. We’d gladly stay at Roydons Motor Inn again if we travel through Tamworth.
