Country Plaza Motel Taree

My wife and I were very satisfied. The bed was large, firm and fantastic, and the place was very clean. It was convenient for our travels, so we’ll keep it in mind for the next trip. We also happened to catch Travis Head bat a sensational 123 runs to win the test, haha.

The bathroom was bright, fresh and clean, and there was plenty of parking on site. The text explaining late check-in and how to get the room key was clear and easy to follow. I liked the small touches on arrival: lamps already on for a late check-in, an open window for fresh air, towels and soap set out nicely, and cold water in the fridge. I’m not sure about having the pool so exposed at the front by the main road; some privacy screening might be worth considering. Restaurants and amenities are close by, and I’d be comfortable staying here for a few days.

The shower was great, with a removable head and good pressure and temperature, and the cleaning lady was great too. The front desk lady was friendly. We were here for a week as a temporary stop while my husband worked. The pool was okay but dirty; we swam once after using a pool noodle to gather the dead bugs and stuff and push it toward the filter. I found the bed a bit hard and didn’t like the pillows. It’s clean, though the bathroom had a funky smell, and you have to stream Netflix or YouTube from your phone. It was about 140 a night, which felt overpriced, as most places do. If I’d thought we could cancel without losing money, I would’ve changed hotels. It wasn’t my favourite place. The earplugs next to the bed should have clued me in: you can hear the people above walking around. Still, it suited our purpose for the time we needed.

For a budget, basic motel, I really liked this place. The beds were comfy and the aircon was crisp. We didn’t use the onsite pool, but it looked really good.
