Tuesday's Mexican food truck out back was a highlight. The beef burrito was the best I've ever had, and the pulled pork burger was fresh and tasty. A bottle of Pepperjack was $25, then it was off to bed later in a nice little room with an ensuite. What a great little pub, it has that feeling of a yesterday lost in time.

We stayed for Anzac Day and found the room spotless and comfortable, with a TV, mini fridge, soft bed, and clean bathroom. Some may call the rooms outdated, but for an overnight stay they were extremely clean and comfortable. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and the bar service was good. The Chinese place next door was perfect for a snack after a long day. I'd happily stay again and highly recommend the Shamrock.

This is a review of the Chinese restaurant, not the hotel. The food lacked flavour, and they should add more MSG and fish sauce. They also need more than one young woman working there. It was the slowest Chinese restaurant I've been to. I ordered before a whole party table, but they were all served before my food arrived. The special fried rice, omelette, and salt and pepper pork ribs took over an hour. I asked for a refund, and suddenly my food was ready.

A welcoming, old-style Aussie pub. The landlord was very friendly and served my beer in a chilled glass. The Chinese food is well worth trying, with high quality dishes. The dining room feels like a throwback to another time, which was refreshing compared with what we get in the 'big smoke'.

The electric blankets were amazing. The rooms were clean and a decent size, but a bit dated and ready for a refresh.
