The price was impressive for the quality. It has a lovely verandah to relax on, and you can help yourself to cereal, toast, tea and coffee. The rooms are basic but nice and clean, with recently renovated, well-kept bathrooms. A very homey small-town hotel experience, and the staff are friendly.

We stopped in for a Saturday night meal, and everyone had a great meal with outstanding quality all round. The team working at this authentic old Qld pub were lovely. Definitely recommend the Toogoolawah Hotel if you’re passing through!

After a week there, I’d stay again. At first I thought, 'yikes', it looked a bit grubby and was extremely basic, but I ended up really enjoying myself. The owners and locals were super friendly. With no TV or chairs in the rooms, people came out to chat, and dinner was cheerfully brought to the upstairs balcony. The breeze and storm views made a lovely backdrop for conversations with other guests. Meals are reasonably priced, and the vegetables are a mix of fresh ones.

I didn’t stay overnight, but I’d eat here again. The Tuesday night steak special was fantastic value, with generous portions of both steak dinner and wine. Service was prompt and friendly.

Everything was hot and fresh, and the meat was cooked just how we liked it. My husband and I really enjoyed the Tuesday night steak special and thought it was great value for money. We had it with a generous serving of red wine.
