Deco Hotel

The room was quiet, and the gym had good equipment. There’s a tram stop on the road outside, and our free parking was handy with a hire car. The hotel is about a three minute drive from a lively street full of cafes and restaurants. The beds were comfortable, but the room felt dark. It had a sliding door to a balcony, though the balcony’s wide concrete roof blocked a lot of light. One thing to watch: moving a drink from the fridge for 15 seconds records it as consumed. I only moved the drinks to see what was inside and didn’t drink any.

The underground parking costs $15 and has unlimited pass-outs. You get in with your room key, so it’s straightforward and secure. Hotel Deco in Braddon feels modern and practical, with a quietly premium feel. The rooms are spacious, properly air conditioned and comfortable enough to spend time in. The bathroom was especially good, massive and clean, with dual sinks, strong water pressure and solid finishes. I also got a better than expected sunset view facing the road. The gym has a huge range of equipment that lets you train properly, rather than just a treadmill and a sad dumbbell. Concierge staff were friendly, efficient and genuinely helpful. I’d happily stay again next time I’m in Canberra.

The design and atmosphere at Deco Braddon made the stay pleasant. I especially liked the stylish, modern interior, which felt carefully thought out and attractive, and the room was comfortable and relaxing. I did have a couple of small issues. The air conditioning in Room 860 seemed faulty at times and worked inconsistently. The bathroom tissue was also quite thin, so a different, better quality supply would be preferable. The hotel has great potential.

I had a delicious coffee at the bar. The hotel is very modern, and my stylish room had a beautiful tiled bathroom and a very comfortable bed. I’d definitely stay again.
