Beautiful sundown views, and the cabin was spotless. Check-in was efficient, and the place is pet and smoke free. It’s a refurbished beachfront cabin, with a wide grassy strip out front and large panoramic windows facing the beach. There’s dedicated parking for two vehicles at the back, usual cooking basics and an RC aircon that works well. The living area is roomy, though the bedrooms are tight. Check-in is at 2pm and check-out at 10am unless arranged otherwise. These are duplexes of two, so noise carries through the partywall. The main bedroom has two double PowerPoint for charging, but you need to move the bedside tables forward; the kitchen one is right in the corner. It was quiet during our off season stay, though I’d expect the grass to be busy in summer. The beach allows public vehicle access, so you can’t be too territorial.

The camp kitchen and social area are the best I’ve ever seen, and the other amenities are sensational too. Caravan powered sites are roomy, flat and so well planned out. The park is right on the beach. It was an absolute pleasure staying here, and I’ll be back when the weather’s warmer.

My partner and I really enjoyed five nights in the two storey apartments right on the beach. Wallaroo Holiday Park is beautifully presented and maintained, whether you’re in a tent on the lawn or parked up in a small, medium or large van. The extra facilities are excellent, and the beachfront cafe and coffee place is superb. We did have a few small issues that maintenance could easily have fixed, as we found out later, but the receptionist on duty brushed off the enquiry with, “yes, those things happen sometimes?”

The staff made our stay special. Hailey at the front desk and a nice gentleman on Sunday, whose name escapes me, were lovely at check-in and check-out, gave us a detailed map and helped us out. The team were warm, professional and bright, and even helped us book again. The weather was rainy, so we spent more time inside, but it was still a beautiful experience. We’re looking forward to returning in December with friends and family and staying longer. Hopefully we’ll meet more families who are happy to get along and enjoy the holiday spirit as we do. For a swim, I recommend driving to moonta bay for the free water park, tidal pools and a great swim. We stayed in the ocean front spa unit with my daughter for her 8th birthday, from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th of April. Adelaide was about 2 hrs away by car. The holiday park is in a beautiful spot by the Beach and marina, and we could watch ships and boats come and go. Our unit opened onto the beach and had ocean views from the windows. The bouncy pillow, petting zoo, ponies, playground and bike trail and jumps made it very kid friendly. There’s a cafe by the units for breakfast and lunch, and good dinner options in wallaroo and kadina. The unit was pristine and beautifully decorated, with lovely attention to detail, and the cleaners keep it stunning. The old blind by the rear back door needs replacing. The beds were hard, and you could feel the springs, though that may come down to preference. Some older people at the park seemed wary of visitors they didn’t know or who weren’t from country towns, as they often visit with family. My child also experienced racism from a child’s grandfather. His granddaughter apologised to my child on behalf of the adult and said she hated it when he did things like that. Aside from that, everyone else was warm and welcoming, happy to say hello, let us pet their dogs and have a conversation. Parents were involved and helped the kids stay safe and have a good time.

Booking the powered caravan site was super easy, and the confirmation and check-in email were great. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It’s a great park for kids, with plenty to keep them busy.
