Wallaroo Marina Apartments

Room 12 was a fantastic little space, with plenty of room and a lovely balcony view over the water. It was well kept, and Foxtel kept me entertained. I booked at the last minute and they were able to fit me in promptly. I’ll stay here every time I’m in town.

The location was great, but the lack of basic maintenance completely ruined it. There was bird poo all over the outside areas. Inside, the walls were scuffed and dirty, some pictures were missing, and the window blind was broken. Cobwebs hung from the ceiling, with dead insects and a thick layer of dust on the carpet. The tiled areas were covered in dirt and sand. I was also charged a late fee for checking out just a few minutes past the time.

We stayed in Level 1 Room 2 for the Thursday night through to Good Friday morning over Easter long weekend, and it was quiet. The room was clean and tidy, and I was happy to walk around barefoot without getting anything stuck to my feet. The riverfront view was fantastic for watching the sun go down with a couple of drinks. Coopers Ale House is right next door, though we didn’t hear much from the pub at night. I imagine it could be different on a lively Saturday or Sunday of a long weekend. The front desk service was great morning and night. The only issue was a bad smell when I switched on the bathroom vent, so we left it off. Other than that, it was a comfortable stay.

For nearly $3,000, I expected a clean apartment with working amenities. Instead, we had dirty floors and stained carpets, leftover food in the sink, and a stove that wouldn’t clean. The dust set off allergies and asthma in my group, and I worried about my 8-month-old crawling on the floor. The washing machine didn’t work properly and the shower leaked. The stair railing was loose, though it was fixed the next day. We stayed at Wallaroo Marina Apartments in Townhouse 13A from January 6-12, 2025. My family has members who stay here every year, but I won’t book again after this experience. We raised cleanliness and maintenance concerns at check-in and were assured they’d be addressed, but nothing was done during our stay. I’ve tried contacting management several times and am still waiting to hear back. There was no attention to our concerns. I’ve heard similar complaints from others who stayed at the same time, so it seems like a systemic problem. I won’t be returning, and neither will my family.
