Wee Waa Motel

The food tasted like it might have come from a frozen packet, and the rooms were worn, especially the bathroom. But the bed bugs on the first night overshadowed all of that. The place needs a lot of work before it lives up to those recent five-star reviews, which clearly seem to have been left by the owners.

The on-site bar and restaurant serve good food in a relaxed setting, and there’s plenty of parking. The motel is close to local shops and services, with a peaceful feel. My room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, with the essentials like air conditioning, a fridge, a microwave, and a modern bathroom. Management and staff were professional, polite, and attentive. Good value for money, and I’d recommend it for business or leisure.

The carpet was dirty and very old, and the small room felt stuffy, unclean, and like a hot box. We paid a discounted price of $116. I wanted a refund, but apparently it had to go through Expedia bookings. I usually book with booking.com and have had great experiences with them. We’re driving on to Narrabri now and booked Crossroads Hotel through booking.com. Don’t stay at Wee Waa Motel. Even the reception office was cleaner than the hotel room.

The new managers have only just taken over, and it looks like maintenance wasn't kept up before the sale. If the new owners put as much effort into looking after customers as they do into their mobile phone, this place would get 10 stars.
