If you’re happy self-catering somewhere away from the hustle and bustle, this is perfect. It’s a drive to shops and facilities, but the bungalow had a bbq for evenings and was spacious and comfortable. We spent 5 nights at this idyllic spot by the river Derwent.

Breakfast was provided, and the place was clean, spacious, with a comfortable bed. We had a beautiful view by the river and ducks and birds out the front every day. Tim and Karen are lovely hosts. Thanks for a great stay. It was an easy drive for exploring different parts of Tasmania.

The view is superb any time, whether you’re having coffee in the morning or a beer or wine in the arvo. Otago cottage is a beautiful, peaceful place to stay, suited to couples or families and stocked for a self contained stay. We stayed 11 nights and saw every sight we possibly could. Tim and Karen are the loveliest hosts and helpful in every way imaginable. Thanks so much, it was exactly what we needed.

The first thing that won me over was the setting: river and hill views, birds and rabbits wandering around the little park by the cottage, and such a calm, lovely feel to the place. My cottage had a cozy bedroom with an ensuite, shower and huge bath, plus a small kitchen and furnished living room with TV and WiFi. Karen greeted me when I arrived and even drove me to get groceries so I could sort out dinner. I like cooking for myself, so that kindness meant a lot. If I come back to Tasmania, I'd stay here again.

We spent 17 days at Otago and honestly could have stayed longer. The Cottage and Bungalow were both comfortable and well equipped, and breakfast came with a generous range of provisions. Karen and Tim looked after us and the friends who joined us for a short stay far beyond what we expected. There are lovely views and wildlife to enjoy from the veranda or down by the Derwent River, which is right there. We'd choose this first next time we're in Tassi. Thanks for such a lovely stay.
