The tour of the park was fantastic, and there’s so much to see and do. The owner and staff were lovely, helpful, and really knowledgeable. The park and Aquarium are beautiful and well set up, and dinner and breakfast in the main building were excellent, with the staff making everything feel just right. We stayed in the Lion Bungalow, where the lion was visible the whole time and slept right beside our window all night. The room was lovely and had great views. Jamala was high on my bucket list, and it went beyond what I expected. Make it a must see.

The animal encounters were amazing, and the zoo and aquarium feel peaceful and lovely. The animals are cared for incredibly well. The guides were fantastic, the groups were small, and we loved the food. We never had a moment when we were hungry. The accommodation was stunning, and turn down service was a nice extra. As someone who is neurodivergent, I found the accessibility incredible. The restaurant was busy, but when we asked to eat upstairs they were very accommodating. I’m currently pregnant, and they were able to provide a mobility scooter for the 3km tour. It worked perfectly. Everyone was so lovely and never made us feel like we were asking too much. No request seemed too big.

The animal tours were a highlight, thanks to guides like Immy, Cooper, Jake, and Molly, whose knowledge and enthusiasm made them both exciting and informative. We got to hand-feed a giraffe and pat a rhino while hearing about conservation. The behind-the-scenes access felt inspiring. Dining in the uShaka Lodge was another standout. The multi-course dinner was plentiful and immaculate, and we could sometimes see white lions through the glass. Libby, Charly, and Aaron helped make the service and atmosphere feel superb. The food was sublime. From check-in onwards, the service was personal and thoughtful. Alice made arrival smooth, with our luggage taken away and afternoon tea served in the African-themed lodge. We felt looked after from the start. The luxury stay, close animal encounters, excellent dining, and dedicated staff made Jamala Wildlife Lodge feel like a once-in-a-lifetime experience we won’t forget.

Feeding giraffes from our balcony was magical, and hearing lions roar outside the window is something we’ll remember. We stayed in both the Jungle Bungalow with lions and the Giraffe Treehouse, and the whole experience surpassed our expectations. The morning walk through the zoo to breakfast, before it opened, was peaceful and unique as we watched the animals start their day. Dinner was excellent too. Thanks to John for the guided tour. His knowledge, passion, and genuine care for the animals made it engaging and memorable. Everything felt special from the welcome afternoon tea to the artwork around the property and the incredible staff. If you’re thinking about booking, go for it. This is a beautifully run stay that leaves you smiling long after you’ve left.

We had a very memorable stay, with great food and friendly staff. Our Giraffe Lodge check-in was at 3:15, and we had a 20 minute group giraffe feeding between 4 and 4:20. Pre-dinner drinks started at 6, with dinner soon after, so by the time we got back after the meal it was too dark to see the giraffes. I’d suggest moving dinner to 8 so there’s more time to enjoy the animals in the afternoon. Apart from that timing, it was a great experience and one you have to try.
