Boulder Opal Motor Inn

After ten hours on the road, sitting outside by the pool with the dogs was just what we needed. We had dinner there too, good, honest home cooking and friendly service. Kylie welcomed us warmly and made us and our two dogs comfortable. The room worked perfectly for our two Border Collies, with tiled floors and air conditioning. Thanks for looking after us so well, Kylie.

The room was spacious and had what we needed, including a comfortable, good-sized bed. We found it awkward to walk into town in the heat because the motel is at the far end, and the restaurant being closed affected our plans. We did have great meals at Tattersalls Hotel and North Gregory Hotel, though, and our stay itself was comfortable.

I picked this place because of the other reviews, but the room wasn’t clean. There were dead bugs, the shower was awful with an old, blocked showerhead, and the TV remote was absolutely disgusting and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Ordering dinner from the restaurant was another mistake. The food was wrong and burnt, and just gross. The manager said the meal would be removed from my bill, but it was still on the final receipt. I would not recommend it.

The place was quiet, clean and surrounded by grass. I felt safe, and could park right by the door under cover. The Tourist Information Centre, with its great cafe, was an easy walk away.
