Econo Lodge Border Gateway Wodonga

I can’t find anything negative to say about this motel. The room was modern, clean, and spacious, with a setup that worked well for people with limited mobility. The bed was incredibly comfortable. A friendly gentleman greeted me at reception and showed us to our room. We’ve ordered breakfast for the morning, and I’m sure that’ll seal the deal. We’ll be back!

The best part is how much they welcome pets. They really understand what it’s like to travel with them, and dogs can be in the pool area, just not in the pool. I’d give this place 100 stars if I could. The prices are very reasonable, and I’ll stay here every time I travel back to Victoria. I wouldn’t choose anywhere else. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and clean, with wonderfully comfortable beds and great little comforts. The large flat screen TV has Foxtel, apps, casting, and a fantastic visitor compendium. Staff are so friendly. It felt like an oasis after a long day on the road. The disability facilities were a godsend too. Can’t recommend it highly enough, especially for travelling with pets.

Edwards Tavern across the road lets you charge meals back to your room, which is handy for work trips. I also like the ready-to-cast TV system, and there’s plenty of parking with a couple of EV chargers. The rooms are clean, modern, and quiet, and the service is always super friendly and helpful when I stay.

We were travelling with our dog, and there was a big grassy area right outside our room for him. The dog-friendly pub across the road was great for dinner too. We stopped overnight on the way from Sydney to Melbourne and were very happy with our stay. Staff welcomed us warmly at check-in, and we were pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to one of the newer rooms. I’d recommend the Econolodge to anyone passing through, especially if you have a furry friend.
