It takes about 15 minutes to drive to most places you’d need to go, though the hotel isn’t close to much. The view is limited, and parking is scarce. If you arrive after 10pm, you’ll most likely have to park on the street and walk back. Our concierge was incredibly kind and knew a lot. The rooms are spacious, with nice amenities and balconies. For a relaxed, casual stay, it ticks the boxes and I’d recommend it.

The staff were consistently friendly, and the barista coffee and breakfast were good. The rooms felt tired and dated, with mold around the windows, and the gym was dirty. It was very overpriced when we stayed for a triathlon, with inflated rates. The location was also far from downtown, restaurants, and pretty much everything. Uber worked well, but the rides added up.

We’ve stayed at the Quality Suites seven times over the last 15 years, so it’s disappointing to see the place decline. When we arrived, I waited five minutes for someone to come out, then got a casual “hi.” Although we booked directly on the site, they said two single beds weren’t available. I had the booking open on my phone showing that option, but basically got a “not our problem” response. There was no breakfast option, which hadn’t been mentioned when we booked. I checked the website again and still couldn’t find any mention of it. There was no sauna either, and the gym had builders’ gear in it. At 11:30pm, guests were evacuated. The evacuation itself may not have been their fault, but a firefighter told us the fire panel hadn’t been set correctly, should have been fixed by management, and was unsafe. Even when the manager arrived, nobody apologized. I should have asked for a refund, but the staff gave me the feeling I wouldn’t bother. Don’t waste your money here, book an Airbnb or somewhere closer to town.
