We were put in room 112, in the isolated annex at the back of the car park instead of the main hotel. The room had a disability-accessible bathroom, which was fine, but the shower rail had no curtain. Water splashed across the mouldy floor tiles, making them slippery. The bathroom was very dark, and the light switch was at the back where it was hard to find. There were lots of badly patched holes in the walls, with rough plaster repairs. The door peephole faced the wrong way and could be pushed out of its socket, so someone passing by could look into the room. On top of all that, someone above us moved furniture, bounced on a bed, or had a loud shouting match until 11.30pm. The room's cleanliness and condition were disappointing. Don't stay in room 112 if they assign it to you.

Service was 4 stars, food 3. My brother liked the steak and the burger was good. The pasta I ordered was basically just pasta, without any prawns. I returned to try the cheese pasta, but it was really bland. The garlic bread with extra garlic was nice, while the salt and pepper squid lacked flavour.

The rooms were filthy and dusty, and the overall cleanliness is worrying. The handbasin had old toothpaste marks and other stains, as if it hadn't been cleaned. The shower glass was grimy and slimy. The TV was broken, and the air conditioning remote had stains that I hope were dried tomato sauce. I'm just hoping the sheets were clean.

The team at Grand Hotel & Studios Wyong made me feel safe and cared for during a difficult time. Every person, from the cleaners and maintenance crew to the kitchen and front desk/ management, was kind and generous, and went out of their way to help. I've stayed at plenty of hotels, but none have been as welcoming or accommodating, or tailored their support to my needs like this team did. This place reminded me there are still good people in the world. Highly recommend!

The grand reception design first got me excited, but the lobby and then my room both felt stuffy, with barely any airflow. There wasn't a window I could open, and I felt like I couldn't breathe in the room, so I didn't enjoy the stay. The showers were slimy and really need cleaning.
