We booked three rooms, but none was available when we arrived. First we were told there was a gas issue, then a water issue, and eventually they admitted the rooms had been given to other guests. We ended up with five people sharing one room. The manager, Farid Rahimov, refused to discuss it that evening and left us waiting over an hour the next morning. They tried to move us to a cheaper hotel, and it took two hours of discussion before we got reimbursed for the rooms. Other guests told us they had received the same treatment, and said hotel staff had misrepresented what happened. This place deserves no stars. I’d strongly suggest going elsewhere, or calling repeatedly before you arrive so you don’t get an unpleasant surprise.

The air conditioning didn’t work, the minibar was empty, and there was no kettle even though tea bags were provided. We had no toilet roll, the sheets were dirty, and they brought the wrong breakfast. The staff were friendly, which was the only positive.

The air conditioning was awful and made it very hard to sleep. We stayed for 10 days, and I wouldn’t choose this place again. For the same money, you can stay somewhere else. It wasn’t especially cheap for a 4 star hotel, and the services felt limited and incomplete, though the staff were friendly. The elevator took ages, and we had to keep asking for an iron, while the bread toaster was either broken or unavailable. Breakfast wasn’t very good, but manageable.

There are two coffee shops on the ground floor, and a 24 hours supermarket just across the street. The staff are always happy to help. A great place to stay.

The rooms are nice, and the hotel takes up two floors in a business center. To reach Old City, you’ll need to take a taxi or bus.
