The rooms were clean, which was the one real plus. The hotel felt overrated to me, with small rooms, a compact layout, a not-so-great location, and an old, run-down area around it. Staff weren’t especially accommodating, either. The city tax was the biggest shock: AZN 6 per person per night. For four adults, that came to AZN 24 for one night, while other hotels charged us just AZN 8 total for two nights. Our first assigned room was tiny. The shower kept swinging unexpectedly from hot to cold, noise from neighboring rooms carried clearly, and there are very few rooms with a worthwhile view. At check-in, my friend, who was traveling with his 6 year-old daughter, asked for a room with a larger bed, not an extra bed. The front desk didn’t seem to understand and kept trying to charge for an additional bed without offering a suitable room instead. There was quite a lot to choose from at breakfast, but the quality and variety didn’t stand out. The indoor seating area was small, dark, and uncomfortable. I’d put this at three stars. For another AZN 50-100, there are much better options.

The price felt a little steep given that Ivy Garden Hotel is about 2 kilometers from the city center, but we still had a very nice stay. Our room was comfortable, though we would have liked a slightly bigger bed. Breakfast had good variety, and the woman making omelets was especially friendly and kind. We enjoyed the included pool, sauna, and Turkish bath, all of which were clean and well maintained. There was a kids’ area too, which is handy for families. The staff were welcoming, and the dining area had a charming feel with pleasant outdoor seating for warm weather.

Lovely atmosphere and a very professional team. I had such a good day at the spa and enjoyed every moment. Maya gave an amazing massage, Esmera was professional and kind, and Fatima at reception made me feel warmly welcomed and looked after. Highly recommended!

I booked early for this year’s GP weekend and got a good rate. Then the hotel suddenly messaged saying, “The government needs all their rooms,” and told me to cancel. It looks like an attempt to push the price up: they still have plenty of rooms for my dates, just at more than four times the price. Keep this in mind when booking here. They’ll screw you over if they can. Deplorable.

Everything was on point, and I loved the hotel. The rooms were neat and spacious, with a great view, and the furniture and upkeep were great too. The ambiance felt luxurious. Staff were so good, well behaved, and humble, and management was understanding and sweet. I had a great experience and highly recommend it. ❤️❤️❤️
