I wouldn’t recommend this boutique hotel. They seem to have just one receptionist managing two nearby boutique hotels, and there were several times when the hotel had no staff to help. My family and I waited outside for 20 minutes until the receptionist came back to open the building door. I had a confirmed reservation made through Booking.com a month earlier. I emailed ahead with my arrival time and was told a 1 PM check-in would be available. When I arrived at 1 PM, they said the reservation was confirmed but the room wasn’t ready until 2. I came back at 1:50, and was then told the booking had been cancelled and I’d have to pay a new rate, double my original fare, to get the room. The receptionist tried to find a solution and was helpful, but the manager was unprofessional. He wouldn’t speak to me and told the receptionist the room had already been booked by someone else, which felt manipulative.

I really enjoyed my stay at this cozy little hotel in Baku's Old City. It was comfortable and in a great location, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for those things.

The location deserves five stars, but that’s all I can praise. The rooms were tired and tasteless, and I haven’t had an experience like this in a long time. I’d put my flight and arrival time in the booking form and got there at 7 a.m., yet I was left freezing outside the locked hotel for half an hour. Nobody answered the door, and the receptionist had been asleep somewhere else. When they finally appeared, they were sleepy and didn’t even apologize. Booking.com listed a free airport transfer. I checked my checkout time and asked them to book it, but when I got back from a walk that evening, the hotel was empty and the manager had disappeared again. They hadn’t arranged the transfer. For the entire day I stayed, there was simply no staff around, no help and no service.

We booked through Booking.com, and the day before arrival they messaged that they couldn’t pick us up before 2:00 PM, but we could leave our luggage. When we got there, they were no help at all and told us our reservation had been cancelled. The whole response felt indifferent and irresponsible. The other hotel we found later was terrible too. Be careful choosing a place, especially in Baku. Many hotels require cash, and communication can be a serious problem. I definitely don’t recommend this one.

Baku really impressed me. The city is beautiful, clean, and warm, and I want to thank the hotel team for their professionalism and the care they showed everyone. We spent most of our time at the hotel, and the hospitality was incredible. Special thanks to Ramazan for being so kind. 🌺
