Sahil Hostel & Hotel

I had a very pleasant stay in a private room for around 4 days, and would highly recommend this place. The location is convenient and the staff are helpful. One suggestion: offer another bank provider so cards can still be used if one bank has a technical issue.

The bathrooms were dirty, the beds were hard slabs, and things like the hand dryers were broken. There was rust and exposed wiring around the place too. I can't see how it got such good reviews. This was the first hostel I've ever left early. The Travel Inn Hostel is only a few metres away and would be a better choice.

The rooms look much bigger in the photos than they are in reality, not even half the size. There were bedbugs, and the place smelled awful. The lift barely seemed to work, and there were drunk people on the stairs. When I complained, staff brushed it off, saying it wasn't their fault if there were bedbugs and that I could handle it. Shitty hostel, the worst I've stayed in. I wish I could give it minus ten.

The beds at least had their own power sockets and curtains, and the day staff member was really friendly and helpful. The night staff member wasn't much help, though. The keycard locks on the dorm doors don't work, so the doors stay unlocked and it doesn't feel secure. Bathrooms need attention too: mould in some shower corners, broken hand dryer, soap dispensers, faucet handle and cabinet door, plus no toilet paper stocked. The other guests didn't seem to be tourists, as others have said. There's a nearby inn that's much better. The hostel is bearable, but it needs work.
