Soprano Guest House

We feel like we lucked out finding this place. The interior is updated and beautiful, and for a fantastic price we got a large, clean room. It’s tucked off the main road, but Google Maps takes you to the right spot. Look for the green building with the gate, then call them on WhatsApp when you arrive so they can let you in.

The room was good 👍, but my taxi driver missed the location twice because it’s hidden on a very small street. Keep in mind that female guests aren’t allowed. The lady who received us can speak English, so communication was a little difficult.

It’s not near the popular tourist attractions, but Bolt and Yandex are so affordable in Baku that it didn’t matter to us. We had a peaceful, clean, comfortable stay, with spacious and very clean rooms and kind, friendly hosts. Each night when we came home, it was nice to see the host family having dinner, sipping chai, and spending time together under the tree. They brought us a kettle to boil water when we asked. They also helped us park and get the car out early in the morning for a road trip, since the fit in their front yard was tight. I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

The hosts were nice, the place was clean, and there’s a park nearby. It’s cheap too. Since it’s an old house, you can hear the neighbors, and the Wi-Fi is slow. The balcony door was broken, cleaning happened only once a week, there was no water or tea in the room, and some interior details were unfinished.
