The mini fridge and electric kettle came in handy, for cold beer on the balcony at night and hot coffee in bed in the morning. The suites are big, almost like apartments, with a separate living room and bedroom. Mine had a balcony overlooking the Flame Towers.

It’s a historic hotel in the middle of the historic city. The main drawback is the lack of an elevator, which can be a bit difficult for older people.

From here, the main tourist sights are easy to explore on foot, with well-known Old City spots just minutes away and the Seaside Boulevard about a 10-minute walk. Restaurants and cafes are close by too. It’s a relaxing place surrounded by 500 years of history, and a handy base for seeing Baku’s culture, historic sites, modern side, and photo spots. You can get a feel for the city like a local.

Right in the center of old Baku, near the Maiden Tower, the place is quiet and beautiful, with a sea view and friendly staff. But I’d avoid staying here in winter. There’s no heating, and the room gets very cold.
