Octagon

I didn’t expect such clean rooms or this level of service, but everything was great, from the hosts to the room. I’d happily recommend the hotel and stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you! About Dragica’s earlier review: I thought the decoration was lovely and reflected Bosnian culture really well. In my view, giving this great hotel 3 stars over what seems like a mistaken impression feels unfair, especially when the hosts are trying so hard to make guests’ stays enjoyable and the rooms are spotless. Just my two cents.

The ground-floor sitting areas have a lovely classic feel, so take a moment to sit there. It’s a sweet little hotel in a quiet neighbourhood near the airport, with pleasant staff and a clean room. WiFi was included and fast. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had hot water and excellent pressure. There’s a mall and restaurants just a quick walk away, and the stocked mini fridge was a nice touch. No coffee maker or safe in the room, but that was fine for one night. We left early for our flight, so I can’t comment on breakfast. The staff offered to make us coffee and walked nearly as far as the main road with us on the way to the airport.

The hotel has a warm, beautiful atmosphere, clean and spacious rooms, tasty breakfast, fast WiFi, and over 50 TV programs if you need them. We were impressed, especially since photos often make hotels look better than they are, but that wasn’t the case at Octagon. Its location is ideal: a 2-minute walk from Sarajevo Airport, with very good soundproofing so planes aren’t a problem. It’s 12KM (6€) by taxi from the city center, on the way to Bjelasnica Ski Resort, and 2km from the highway. What more could you expect from a 3 star hotel? Big thanks to the friendly staff and owners. Highly recommended!

The owner was aggressive toward guests and even went into our rooms while we were out, photographed our belongings, and rearranged them. The maid cleaned only once, and we were repeatedly short of clean towels and toilet paper. Breakfast was very poor for a 4 star hotel. The hotel itself looks comfortable, but the staff, mainly the owner, ruined the experience. It was horrible.
