Savannah Beach Club Hotel

I spent two nights here and wouldn't choose to stay again. The room was the best part: comfortable, with a good shower and plenty of hot water. Breakfast and the restaurant food were both okay, though the hotel could use some maintenance. At the beach there were plenty of loungers and towels, plus a bar and restaurant. Staff friendliness was the main problem. About a third were genuinely cheerful, while the rest made it seem like hospitality was the last job they wanted.

We had a lovely 10-day break and are thinking about returning. The biggest letdown was communication. Friends had booked an in-room massage with an outside provider, but we weren't told clearly when it would happen. We only got the details a few hours beforehand, after asking. There also seemed to be little ownership of trips booked through reception when the main organiser was away. The trips coordinator wasn't helpful with following up. The beach was lovely for lounging, though stones in the sea made swimming difficult. There were plenty of sunbeds, but very few umbrellas around the pool, so shade was limited. Check-in was straightforward, but remember to pay the taxes, and that your card is held on their system for any room damage. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable, towels were changed daily, and tea and coffee were replenished each day. They even brought extra milk because they knew we liked tea. Breakfast had yoghurt, seeds, fruit, pastries, cakes, and omelets cooked to order. I thought the food was very good, and staff were happy to bring ice cream if asked. Marlon and Marissa in catering made a real effort to meet our group's dietary needs, offering different evening meals for three vegetarians and one person following a halal diet. Teresa was especially helpful with questions and went out of the way to assist. Quenele was always helpful at meals, and elesia was friendly and helpful too.

We came back for our second visit in 10 years, and our third trip to Barbados. It was just as great as the first time, with helpful, friendly staff, good food and drinks, and a handy location.

From Teresa at Reception to the food and beverage team each day, everyone gave us a warm welcome and made our first stay at SBC memorable. The staff made my 80-year-old mum feel special 💙, and the double-storey rooms were clean and spacious. My only downside: Mount Gay Eclipse rum wasn't included at the bars in the all-inclusive price.
