Divi Beach Villas at Southwinds, Ltd., Bridgetown, Barbados

The St Lawrence Gap location is good, with plenty of nice restaurants nearby, but the property itself was disappointing for the price. I wouldn’t return and will look elsewhere in Barbados. The shared restrooms in the restaurant and beach area were dirty. We reported them twice, and they still hadn’t been cleaned even 2 days later. The soap dispenser wasn’t working, so it was off putting to think restaurant workers may have used the restroom without washing their hands before preparing and serving food. The bathrooms in the rooms had a strange chemical smell, possibly from the cleaning products. The AC was extremely loud, like a jet engine, and the TVs had very few channels. Nearby restaurants show sports and other things, but the hotel’s selection is very limited. There was absolutely no evening entertainment on the property.

There’s plenty to do on the property, with a gym, convenience store, mini golf, and tennis. The rooms are spacious, and the kitchen is well equipped, though the toiletries could be better. The hotel is conveniently located, with Lawrence Gap behind it, the beach a few minutes away, and public transportation right at the entrance. The monkeys were entertaining!

The room was massive and fully equipped, and the location was great. Cleaning was average, and reception was good except for one woman with a terrible attitude. At Pureocean, the bar staff were shockingly poor, lazy, and uninterested, giving the impression they’d rather be anywhere else. We ordered cocktails with lunch and waited 25mins, with 3 reminders before they finally arrived just as we finished eating. We got the usual BS about the delay, but no apology. It’s a shame, because it’s a great spot on the beach.

The pools are beautiful and a great place to relax, and the beach is only a short walk away. I had a great stay here. Everything was super clean, common areas included, and the front desk girls were friendly and welcoming, which made me feel right at home. My comfortable room had everything I needed, including a handy kitchen. I’d definitely stay again.
