Hotel Ocean Palace

We paid BDT 4,300 a night for two rooms on the 5th floor in Cox’s Bazar, a sea-view couples' room and a twin room without a view for my friends. The twin room was especially disappointing. Its sheets and comforter were dirty, with hair visible on the bed. Missing basics included a kettle, drinking glasses, handwash, tissues, and a floor mat outside the washroom. None of the rooms had tissue boxes. Room service was very poor. They refused our request for an extra pair of sandals without giving a proper reason. The manager seemed indifferent and lethargic, and acted unprofessionally toward our concerns. Checkout was delayed by repeated calculation errors. At this price, the cleanliness and service were unacceptable. For around BDT 5,000, there are much better choices in Cox’s Bazar. I wouldn't recommend it.

The location was nice, but it couldn't make up for the service. I paid double for a weekend stay. The ceiling had black spots all over, and the AC wasn't working when I checked in. Staff said it had a gas problem and couldn't be fixed then, but they didn't move me to another room. The TV didn't work either, and the toilet smelled awful. Breakfast was even worse than the room. When I raised all this after checkout, nobody even apologized. They seemed to think it was normal. Very disappointing.

For an affordable stay in a good location, just opposite the Ocean Paradise, this is a decent place. Rooms have verandas, geysers, good beds, and furniture, though the furniture needs proper upkeep. Toiletries such as paste, soap, and shampoo are adequate and average quality, but replacements are slow and staff seem reluctant. Food quality and dining management could be better.

One of the worst hotels in Cox’s Bazaar. The service quality is very poor. I can't describe how bad it was in just a few words.
